Terms of use
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Please read this first: Xelo is a tracking tool, not tax advice
- All tax figures in Xelo, including tax owed, amounts to set aside, payment dates, bands, National Insurance and student loan, are estimates only.
- They are based on what you enter and on general UK rules. They may not match your actual tax bill, and we can't promise they are complete, accurate or up to date for your situation.
- Xelo is not tax, financial, accounting or legal advice. It isn't approved by HMRC and it doesn't file anything with HMRC.
- You are responsible for your own tax return and for the figures you submit. Always check with HMRC or a qualified accountant before you file or pay.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Xelo app and this website. Xelo is run by Fanol Thaqi, a sole trader trading as Xelo, in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: support@xelo.one. Postal address: [business address].
By creating an account or using Xelo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. What Xelo does
Xelo helps you keep track of your self-employed work: clients, shifts, income, expenses and bills. It shows your profit and gives an estimate of the tax you may owe, so you can plan and put money aside. It is a record-keeping and planning tool only.
3. Estimates and your responsibility
Xelo's figures depend on the information you enter and on the rules and rates built into the app. If entries are missing or wrong, or your circumstances aren't covered (for example other income, reliefs or allowances the app doesn't know about), the estimates will be wrong. Tax rules and rates also change.
You should not rely on Xelo alone when deciding how much tax to pay, when to pay it, or what to put on your tax return. We aren't responsible for tax, penalties, interest or other losses that result from relying on Xelo's estimates instead of checking with HMRC or an accountant.
4. Beta versions
While Xelo is in beta (including through TestFlight), features may change, break or be removed, and you may find bugs. Please keep your own records of anything important, such as receipts and invoices, and report problems to support@xelo.one.
5. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to use Xelo.
- Give accurate sign-in details and keep access to your email and devices secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Your account is for you. Please don't share it or use someone else's.
6. Your data
The information you put into Xelo is yours. You allow us to store and process it only to run the app for you, as explained in our privacy policy. You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
7. Fair use
Please don't misuse Xelo. That includes trying to access other people's data, interfering with how it works, reverse engineering it except where the law allows, uploading harmful content, or using it for anything unlawful.
8. Free and Pro
Tracking in Xelo is free. Some features, such as the full tax breakdown, may in future be part of a paid "Pro" subscription. If we introduce Pro, the price and what's included will be shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple's App Store, and Apple's terms apply to payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Xelo running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change or stop parts of the app. If we ever close Xelo, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can export or note down your information.
10. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, and as far as the law allows:
- we aren't liable for losses caused by relying on Xelo's estimates, including tax owed, penalties, interest or missed deadlines (see sections 3 and the box at the top)
- we aren't liable for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit or lost opportunity
- our total liability to you for anything connected with Xelo is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Xelo and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and explain why.
12. Apple
If you downloaded Xelo from Apple's App Store or TestFlight: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Xelo, its content, maintenance or support, or for dealing with any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You must also follow Apple's own terms for the App Store.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is important, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Xelo after that, the new terms apply.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
